How to Deal with Loneliness

Now that school is ending and finals are over, I have so much more free time! This means more free time to make videos on that channel I’ve been neglecting.

When I first moved to Korea, I didn’t know a soul in my area. Add that to the fact that I’m one of the only foreigners on my island and am definitely the only foreigner at my school, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a loner. Sure, I’ve talked to co-workers, but there’s only so much you can say before the conversation goes stale. In the end, I’ll never be a Korean. I’ll always be that girl you have to make an effort to talk to.

Thankfully, I’ve made friends in Seoul, but most of the time, I’m on my own.

Last year around this time, I was feeling particularly lonely. It was my first ever Christmas away from home. Christmas also isn’t a big deal in Korea. Most of my students have probably never even opened a Christmas present.

So in honor of this, I made a video about how I deal with loneliness. Enjoy 🙂
